(Nashville, Tenn.) Aug. 12, 2010 – As acclaimed songstress Kerrie Roberts readies to release her self-titled debut album on Provident Label Group’s Reunion Records on Aug. 24, the project’s early hit single, “No Matter What,” breaks the Top 20 this week at No.17 on Billboard’s AC Monitored chart, and jumps to No. 12 on the CHR format. With proven strong radio support, the emotive singer’s huge soaring vocals and transparent songwriting poise her to be the next breakthrough voice in Christian music.

The 10 songs on her soulful-pop debut, Kerrie Roberts, include production credits for GRAMMY Award-nominated Rob Graves (Natalie Grant, Red), Dan Muckala (Brandon Heath, The Afters), Chuck Butler and four-time Grammy Award winner Brown Bannister. Roberts, who has writing credits on every song, thematically explores a thoughtful side of faith, hope and love—the acknowledgment that an authentic life of faith isn’t void of suffering, the purpose amidst pain, the promise that a breakthrough is coming, and the motivating power of God’s love.

“People need to know they are not alone in what they’re feeling,” Kerrie says. “I want every song to leave people with a sense of purpose—a call to action, a realization of a truth, a promotion of hope and healing.”

Roberts’ first performance came at the age of 5. Growing up a pastor’s daughter, she was the youngest member of the church choir, and would stand on top of a milk crate each week to see over the choir’s partition. After learning to play piano, she wrote her first songs in high school and began performing in churches and local venues.

The southern Florida native has been deeply impacted by her parents counsel and love to those who were hurting. Her parents’ ministry instilled in her a desire to reach out to the broken and those searching for hope. Her music is a clear indication she has developed a passion for sharing God’s faithfulness in hardship and the unconditional love she has seen poured into her own life and the lives of others. Kerrie explained, “That’s something that resonates in me and that I love being a part of.”

Kerrie’s distinctive songwriting and powerful voice have already caught the attention of radio stations and listeners across the country. Mike Prendergast, Director of Programming for KLTY in Dallas, predicted Kerrie Roberts as “New Artist of the Year” saying, “She’s one of the best new acts I’ve heard in a while.”

Dwayne Harrison, Program Director for WRCM in Charlotte, N.C., said he expected Kerrie’s talent and song-writing to earn her a lasting place on his station. After the positive response from her single, both stations say they look forward to sharing the rest of her album with their audience.

Kerrie hopes the messages in her songs will be an encouragement to those who are struggling, and an honest expression of life as a Christian, a life where God allows hardship but never abandons during these trials.
